There’s a mistake in your translation. In the Saheeh International translation of 2:227, it translates “Inna Allaha sami3un 3aleem” as “Allah is all-hearing and ALL-MERCIFUL.” Al-3aleem is the all-knowing, I think they mis-translated it.
